Aalto 2006

Aalto 2006 is a mature and expressive Tempranillo from one of Ribera del Duero’s most respected names. Made from grapes sourced from old vines and carefully selected parcels in Castilla y León, it combines depth, elegance, and the kind of complexity only time can bring.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Aalto 2006 shows a beautifully evolved ruby-garnet color with the subtle brick-toned nuances that come with age. The nose is layered and refined, opening with dried dark fruits before unfolding into balsamic notes, tobacco, leather, and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is rounded and elegant, with silky tannins, generous depth, and a long, harmonious finish. Its balance and structure suggest excellent aging potential, and even now it offers a fully developed but still vibrant expression of mature Tempranillo.

Viininvalmistus
Aalto 2006 is crafted from 100% Tempranillo, sourced from 40- to 80-year-old vines on leased vineyards as well as younger vines from Aalto’s own holdings in Valladolid. The grapes were harvested by hand with careful selection to ensure only the best fruit made it into the wine. After fermentation, the wine aged for 16 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak barrels, lending structure, complexity, and long-term cellaring potential.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for rich meat dishes such as roast lamb, beef, game, or slow-cooked stews, as well as mature cheeses. Serve at 17–18 °C, and decanting is recommended to help the wine fully open and show its depth and aromatic complexity.
