Aalto 2007

Aalto 2007 is a mature and classically styled red from one of Ribera del Duero’s most respected names. Made entirely from Tempranillo, it brings together fruit from 40-80 year-old vines on leased parcels across the region and younger estate vines in Valladolid, resulting in a wine with both depth and precision. This is a compelling example of how Aalto balances power, elegance, and age-worthy structure in a vintage that has developed beautifully over time.

In the glass, Aalto 2007 shows the character of a well-aged Ribera del Duero red, with a deep, evolved color and a graceful sense of maturity. The nose is expressive and layered, offering dried dark berries, leather, tobacco, spice, and well-integrated oak, all woven together with finesse. On the palate, the wine is round, complex, and silk-smooth, with ripe tannins, generous concentration, and a long, persistent finish. The fruit remains intact despite its age, supported by a refined structure that suggests it can continue to hold well for a while longer, though it is already at a very rewarding stage of development.

Viininvalmistus
Aalto 2007 is produced from 100% Tempranillo sourced from old vines in Ribera del Duero, with grapes coming from carefully selected leased vineyards and the producer’s own holdings in Valladolid. The combination of old and younger vines contributes both concentration and freshness, while the manual harvest and strict grape sorting ensure only high-quality fruit enters the cellar. After fermentation, the wine spent 16 months aging in a mix of new and used French and American oak barrels, adding structure and complexity without overwhelming the natural fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for game, braised meat dishes, and mature cheeses. Serve at 17-18 °C, and decant lightly before serving to allow the wine’s mature aromas and layered texture to open up fully.
