Aalto PS 2022

Aalto PS 2022 is the powerhouse expression of Aalto, showing an extra level of concentration, depth, and intensity. Made from old-vine Tempranillo sourced from selected parcels in La Horra and La Aguilera, it delivers a bold, polished style with remarkable richness and structure. PS stands for "Pagos Seleccionadas," highlighting the careful parcel selection behind one of Ribera del Duero’s most serious wines.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine appears nearly inky black, reflecting its density and concentration. The nose is vivid and layered, with fresh aromas of blueberries, blackberries, and dark plums, lifted by toasted oak, chocolate, and subtle spice. The palate is opulent and expansive, unfolding with blackberry, plum liqueur, licorice, vanilla, coffee bean, tobacco, and warming spice. Despite its power, the wine remains structured, nuanced, and complex, with the depth and balance to evolve beautifully over time. This is a wine that is still very much in its youth and should reward extended aging.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes for Aalto PS come from carefully selected parcels in La Horra and La Aguilera in Castilla y León, where 60- to 90-year-old vines provide naturally low yields and concentrated fruit. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with meticulous sorting before vinification. The wine is then matured for 19 months in new French oak barrels, adding texture, spice, and complexity to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled ribeye, slow-braised lamb, game, roast beef, or hearty stews. It also pairs well with mature hard cheeses and dishes featuring truffle or earthy mushroom notes. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for at least 1–2 hours is recommended, especially in its youth, to allow the wine to fully open.
