Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2020 is a classic expression of one of Italy’s most celebrated red wines, crafted by one of Brunello’s most respected names. Makuprofiili
The wine shows a deep, ruby-red color with impressive concentration in the glass. On the nose, it opens with ripe dark fruit, layered with floral hints of violet and a subtle touch of vanilla from oak aging. The palate is full-bodied and richly structured, with concentrated, mouth-filling fruit, firm tannins, and a long, persistent finish. This is a wine built for the cellar, and while already compelling, it has the depth and balance to develop beautifully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Altesino’s vineyards are located in Montalcino, including a share of the famous Montesoli hill, where Sangiovese Grosso thrives in the Tuscan terroir. The estate combines tradition and precision, with the grapes harvested carefully and the wine vinified in the historic cellars beneath Palazzo Altesi. Aging takes place in large Slavonian oak casks, preserving the wine’s classic Brunello character while adding complexity and finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Brunello is a natural match for roasted game, braised beef, truffle dishes, aged hard cheeses, and rich Tuscan cuisine. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour before serving to allow the aromas and structure to open fully.

Altesino is one of the historic benchmark producers of Brunello di Montalcino, housed in a 16th-century castle in the heart of the appellation. The estate produced its first Brunello in 1972 and later modernized its cellar work in the 1980s, helping raise quality to an even higher level. Today, Altesino remains highly regarded for its commitment to tradition, precision, and consistently outstanding Brunello.
