Arnot-Roberts Cabernet Sauvignon Fellom Ranch 2021 is a distinctive expression of Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet, shaped by a site that sits high on a ridge overlooking Silicon Valley. With vines rooted in old, hard-fought terrain and a restrained use of new French oak, it delivers a more nuanced, terroir-driven take on Cabernet Sauvignon than many California examples. The vineyard itself has a long history, dating back to 1929, and brings real depth and pedigree to the glass.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Cabernet shows a deep, dark-fruited profile with a polished, concentrated feel. The nose is layered with black fruit, anise, cedar, mocha, and a subtle hint of tar, giving it both richness and lift. On the palate, dark fruit takes the lead, supported by cedarwood and spice, while the velvety tannins keep everything beautifully composed. The wine has the structure to age gracefully, with the balance and oak restraint suggesting it will continue to evolve well over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Fellom Ranch Vineyard is located on a rugged ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where the vines must work hard in a challenging environment, naturally keeping yields low and quality high. Originally planted in 1929, the site was replanted with Cabernet Sauvignon in 1980 using material from Charles Winery in Napa Valley. For this wine, all the grapes are destemmed, and the wine matures for 22 months with only 20% new French oak, allowing the vineyard character to remain front and center.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet pairs well with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, and dishes with earthy mushrooms or black pepper seasoning. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best balance of fruit and structure. Decanting for about 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to help the aromatics open up and soften the tannins.
