Bandol Rosé AOC 2023 is a striking example of Provence rosé with a little more backbone than most, thanks to its required Mourvèdre content and the structured style the appellation is known for. Grown along the Mediterranean coast between Marseille and Toulon, it combines freshness, bright fruit and a subtle mineral edge with the kind of depth that has made Bandol one of France’s most respected rosé regions.

Makuprofiili
Pale pink in the glass, this rosé shows a luminous, delicate color that hints at both freshness and substance. The nose is expressive and fruit-driven, with notes of mandarin, bitter grapefruit and ripe peach, alongside a light Mediterranean herbal touch. On the palate, it is well balanced and elegant, with crisp acidity, a rounded texture and more structure than many other Provence rosés. The Mourvèdre brings subtle grip and depth, while the Cinsault and Grenache add lift and juicy fruit. This is a rosé that can be enjoyed young for its freshness, but it also has the balance and framework to develop nicely over a short period of cellar time.

Viininvalmistus
Bandol’s vineyards sit on coastal hillsides in Provence, where the Mediterranean climate brings plenty of sunshine tempered by sea breezes. The soils of limestone and shale contribute freshness, mineral tension and complexity, while the appellation rules require at least 20% Mourvèdre, though many wines contain more. The wine is typically made by direct pressing, a gentle vinification method that preserves aromatic purity, delicate color and the rich yet refined texture that defines Bandol rosé.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This rosé is an excellent match for grilled seafood, Niçoise salad, roasted poultry, Mediterranean vegetables and dishes with herbs, citrus or a touch of spice. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, but allowing it a few minutes in the glass can help reveal its aromatic layers.
