Blank Canvas Anthem Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019 is a polished, elegant Pinot Noir from one of Central Otago’s most admired sites. Sourced entirely from Anthem Vineyard in Gibbston Valley and crafted with a light-touch approach, it’s a wine that lets pure fruit, site character, and finesse take center stage. With its silky texture and impressive balance, it reflects both the quality of the vineyard and the careful hand of the winemaker.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows the kind of refined depth you’d expect from a top-tier Central Otago release. The nose opens with ripe red and dark cherries, plums, orange peel, pine notes, and a gentle lift of spice. On the palate, it is deep, rounded, and velvety, with layers of strawberry, red cherry, red apple, and dried spices. The fruit is beautifully framed by subtle oak and a natural sense of freshness, giving the wine both charm and structure. It is already highly enjoyable now, but has the balance and concentration to age gracefully for around 10 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come exclusively from Anthem Vineyard in Gibbston Valley, Central Otago, a region known for producing expressive Pinot Noir from cool-climate vineyards with strong diurnal shifts and excellent drainage. The vineyard is farmed sustainably, and the site’s beauty and energy are said to be reflected in the wine itself. In the cellar, winemaker Matt Thomson presses half the clusters whole, uses discreet oak designed to support rather than dominate, and bottles the wine unfiltered to preserve maximum texture and character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir is a natural match for roasted duck, quail, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, and dishes with earthy or subtly spiced flavors. It also works beautifully with lamb, game birds, or truffle-based pasta. Serve at 14–16°C, and consider decanting for 20–30 minutes if opening it young to allow the aromatics to fully unfold.
