Boschendal 1685 Sauvignon Blanc Grande Cuvee 2022 is a refined South African white blend that brings together the freshness of Sauvignon Blanc with the softer, rounded character of Sémillon. Crafted by one of the country’s most historic estates, it offers a polished style that balances vibrant fruit, structure, and elegance.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine typically shows a pale straw colour with bright green highlights. The nose is lifted and expressive, with notes of citrus, gooseberry, fresh herbs, and subtle tropical fruit, while the Sémillon adds a gentle waxy, honeyed nuance. On the palate, it is crisp and well-defined, with zesty acidity framing flavours of lime, green apple, and white peach, alongside a savoury, textured mid-palate. The finish is clean and persistent, with enough depth to suggest short- to medium-term ageing if properly stored, though it is equally enjoyable for its youthful freshness.

Viininvalmistus
Boschendal’s vineyards benefit from the cooling influences of the Cape’s maritime climate, which helps preserve acidity and aromatic intensity in the grapes. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are harvested separately at optimal ripeness, then vinified with care to retain freshness and balance, before being blended to create a wine with both precision and texture.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled fish, oysters, goat cheese, asparagus, sushi, and light Mediterranean dishes. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to showcase its freshness and aromatic lift, and decanting is not necessary.
