Caccia al Piano Bolgheri Superiore 2021 is a refined Tuscan red that captures the elegance and power that have made Bolgheri one of Italy’s most admired wine regions. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, it offers a classic Superiore-style blend with depth, structure, and a distinctly coastal Mediterranean character. Bolgheri has become internationally significant for its ability to produce world-class Bordeaux-inspired wines, and this bottle reflects that prestige beautifully.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine is typically deep ruby in color, with a dark, polished core that hints at concentration. The nose is expressive and layered, showing ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, and Mediterranean herbs, alongside notes of cedar, graphite, spice, and subtle floral nuances from the Cabernet Franc. On the palate, it is structured yet supple, with fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity, and a generous mix of dark fruit, savory complexity, and elegant oak influence. The finish is long and persistent, with enough backbone to suggest excellent aging potential over the next several years, during which the wine should gain greater harmony and tertiary depth.

Viininvalmistus
Bolgheri’s coastal terroir in Tuscany is defined by well-drained soils, warm sunshine, and cooling sea breezes that help preserve freshness in the grapes while allowing full phenolic ripeness. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot is typically harvested by hand at optimal maturity, with careful sorting to select only the best fruit. Vinification is carried out to preserve purity and structure, often with controlled fermentation and aging in oak to build complexity, polish the tannins, and enhance the wine’s natural depth.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for grilled or roasted red meats, game, braised lamb, and rich Tuscan dishes such as wild boar ragù or beef stews. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses and truffle-based recipes. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for around 1–2 hours if enjoyed young to allow the aromas and structure to open fully.
