Caterwaul Regusci Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Caterwaul Regusci Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a striking 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the acclaimed duo Thomas Rivers Brown and Matt Hardin, sourced from the legendary Regusci Ranch in Stag’s Leap, Napa Valley. Produced in very limited quantities, it combines power, elegance, and a beautifully cool, modern expression of Cabernet—what Thomas Rivers Brown describes as “New School Stag’s Leap.”

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, vivid purple color that hints at its concentration and youthful energy. The nose is expressive and lifted, with cassis, baked plums, blackberries, blueberries, violets, and a touch of licorice, all coming together in a polished, layered bouquet. The palate is full-bodied and richly textured, with the same dark-fruited profile carrying through in a supple, muscular style. Despite its depth and structure, the wine feels refined and cool in tone, finishing long and persistent with plenty of class. It is already impressive now, but has the balance and concentration to age gracefully for 15–20 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Regusci Ranch in the Stag’s Leap district of Napa Valley, a site known for producing Cabernet Sauvignon with both ripeness and structure. While detailed vinification notes are not provided, the wine is clearly made in a low-yield, high-quality style that emphasizes precision, concentration, and a distinctly elegant interpretation of the vineyard.

This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with premium cuts of beef, grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb, venison, or rich mushroom dishes. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to open fully.
