Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2012 Magnum is the flagship wine from Caymus Vineyards and one of the most sought-after Cabernets from California. Released only in exceptional vintages, it showcases the best fruit from the estate’s top parcels and reflects the signature style that has made Caymus a benchmark for rich, expressive Napa Valley Cabernet. It is also a wine with real pedigree, having been named Wine Spectator’s “Number One Wine in the World” twice.

Makuprofiili
Deep, dark and already inviting, the wine pours with a near-opaque ruby-purple colour that hints at its concentration and power. On the nose, it opens gradually with aromas of dark cherry, blueberry tart, boysenberry, tar, milk chocolate and a touch of liquorice. The palate is intense and richly layered, delivering dark cherries, blueberries, raspberry liqueur, boysenberry, shaved milk chocolate and a savoury tar-like edge. Despite its generosity and plush texture, the wine carries impressive structure and a long, persistent finish. It is drinking beautifully now, especially with some air, but it also has the depth to evolve gracefully over time.

Viininvalmistus
Special Selection is made only in years when the best vineyard blocks achieve exceptional quality, with fruit sourced from Caymus’s most outstanding plots in California. The focus is on selecting fully ripe, concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and crafting a wine that captures both power and polish. Under the guidance of winemaker Chuck Wagner, the vinification is geared toward delivering richness, balance and the hallmark Caymus style.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for grilled ribeye, slow-braised short ribs, roast lamb, venison and dishes with truffle, mushrooms or dark chocolate accents. Serve at around 16–18°C. A Magnum will benefit from decanting for at least 1–2 hours to let the wine fully раскрыve its aromas and soften its structure.
