Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection 2016 Magnum is the flagship wine from Caymus Vineyards and one of the most sought-after Cabernets from California. Produced only in exceptional vintages from the estate’s best vineyard parcels, it combines power, finesse, and remarkable concentration. This is the kind of bottle that has earned a place on countless wine lovers’ bucket lists, and for good reason.

Makuprofiili
Deep and inviting in the glass, this Cabernet shows a dark, saturated color that hints at its richness. The bouquet opens beautifully with time, revealing layers of dark cherry, blueberry tart, boysenberry, tar, milk chocolate, and licorice. On the palate, it is intense and generous, with flavors of black cherry, blueberry, raspberry liqueur, boysenberry, and shaved milk chocolate wrapped around a core of earthy tar and ripe fruit. The finish is long, almost endless, and the wine already drinks impressively well, though it has the structure and depth to continue developing gracefully over time.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from the best plots in Caymus’s California vineyards, selected only in years when the grapes reach an exceptional level of ripeness and quality. While detailed vineyard and vinification information is limited, the Special Selection is known as a carefully crafted, small-production Cabernet made under the direction of Chuck Wagner, with an emphasis on extracting maximum character, concentration, and balance from the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Cabernet with rich dishes such as prime rib, grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, roasted lamb, or aged hard cheeses. A serving temperature of around 16–18°C is ideal. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially for a magnum, to allow the wine’s aromatics and texture to fully open.
