Caymus Sea Sun Chardonnay 2022 is a generous, crowd-pleasing Californian Chardonnay that brings together richness, freshness, and easy appeal in one glass. Sourced from three distinct coastal regions in California, it balances the plush, creamy style Chardonnay lovers enjoy with the bright lift that keeps each sip lively and inviting.

Makuprofiili
Pale gold in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with a classic California profile on the nose: lemon zest, ripe peach, green apple, pear, butter, and a touch of vanilla. Behind that, there’s a subtle tropical edge that adds extra charm and breadth. On the palate, the wine is soft, rounded, and full-flavoured, with layers of apple, pear, star fruit, and honey supported by a smooth, creamy texture. A refreshing citrus-driven finish keeps everything in balance and gives the wine its moreish quality. It is made to be approachable young, though a short period of bottle age may bring even more harmony to its texture.

Viininvalmistus
Sea Sun Chardonnay draws fruit from Solano County, Santa Barbara, and Monterey, three Californian regions that each contribute something different to the final blend: richness, roundness, and freshness. The varied coastal terroirs help shape a wine with both depth and lift, while maintaining the broad appeal that defines the style. In the cellar, part of the juice is matured in a combination of new and used oak barrels, while the rest is kept in stainless steel tank to preserve brightness and freshness.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, creamy pasta, grilled salmon, seafood risotto, or dishes with butter and citrus. It also works well with soft cheeses and lightly spiced poultry. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.

Caymus Vineyards was founded in Napa Valley in 1972 by Chuck Wagner and his parents, Charlie and Lorna, building on a family history in agriculture that dates back to 1857. Today, the Wagner family is one of the most respected names in California wine, best known for Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon and the iconic Caymus Special Selection, which has twice been named Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year. Chuck and Charlie Wagner were both inducted into Wine Spectator’s Hall of Fame, underscoring the family’s lasting influence in American wine.
