Champagne Jean Laurent Blanc de Blancs Millésime Brut 2003 is a rare vintage Chardonnay Champagne that delivers remarkable depth and precision at a very attractive level. Produced in limited quantity and released only when fully ready, it combines generous maturity, chalk-driven finesse, and the kind of balance that has made it a favorite on restaurant wine lists across Europe. Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a rich golden hue that signals both maturity and the character of a strong vintage. The nose is expressive and layered, with orange blossom, yellow apple, dried white cherries, toasted whole grain bread, and hints of tropical fruit, exotic spice, pineapple pâte de fruit, and passion fruit coulis.
The palate is fresh yet deeply textured, with a refined creamy mousse, chalky underpinning, and excellent tension between ripeness and acidity. The wine feels focused and complex, with a long, elegant finish. Thanks to its structure and balance, it has the ability to age gracefully, though it is already showing very well now and can be enjoyed through 2026 and beyond.
Viininvalmistus
Jean Laurent’s Blanc de Blancs comes from Chardonnay grown in the village of Celle-Sur-Ource in the southern part of Champagne, where the soils are especially rich in chalk and lend the wines their distinctive mineral backbone. The vines are farmed with a strong ecological approach, using solar power at the estate and recycled rainwater for irrigation, while the family remains closely involved in every stage of production. The vintage cuvées are released later than many other houses, reflecting a philosophy that the wine should be fully ready before it reaches the market.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
This vintage Champagne pairs beautifully with seafood, oysters, shellfish, roast poultry, creamy risotto, and dishes with subtle richness such as seared scallops or white truffle pasta. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to preserve freshness while allowing the complexity to unfold. A short decant is not usually necessary, but giving it a few minutes in the glass can help reveal its layered aromatics.
