Chanin Bien Nacido Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 is a beautifully crafted Santa Barbara Chardonnay from one of the region’s most historic sites. Sourced from Bien Nacido Vineyard, planted in 1973, this wine reflects Gavin Chanin’s signature style: refined, precise, and quietly powerful, with purity and elegance at the forefront.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a bright, polished golden hue. The nose is layered and lifted, with notes of citrus blossom, ripe orchard fruit, lemon curd, and a subtle mineral edge, framed by delicate nuances from neutral oak and a touch of texture from thoughtful élevage. The palate is focused and seamless, balancing vibrant acidity with a supple, finely textured mouthfeel. Flavors of Meyer lemon, green apple, white peach, and a hint of saline minerality carry through to a long, graceful finish. This is a Chardonnay built for both immediate pleasure and ageability, with at least 6–7 years of excellent drinking ahead.

Bien Nacido Vineyard is one of Santa Barbara County’s benchmark sites, known for its cool climate, strong maritime influence, and exceptional fruit concentration. Chanin has worked with fruit from the vineyard since 2008, sourcing grapes from carefully tended parcels and vinifying the wine with a light hand, including some stem use depending on the vineyard and aging primarily in neutral barrels to preserve purity, finesse, and site expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Excellent with roast chicken, seared scallops, lobster with butter, grilled halibut, or creamy pasta dishes. Serve chilled at 10–12°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief splash in the glass can help the wine open up if served young.
