In the glass, this is a deep, dark red wine with an inviting intensity that hints at its concentration. The bouquet is layered and expressive, offering blackcurrant, blackberry, pepper, liquorice, leather, and classic garrigue notes of lavender, rosemary, and thyme, with subtle undertones of smoke and mocha adding further depth. On the palate, the 2012 is supple yet structured, with ripe fruit wrapped around fine, well-integrated tannins. There is excellent freshness and a mineral edge that keeps the wine lifted and precise, while the finish is long and nuanced. It is already drinking well now, but can continue to evolve gracefully over the next several years, gaining even more complexity with time.
