Château d’Esclans Rock Angel 2022 is a more refined, structured step up from the estate’s iconic Whispering Angel, offering greater depth while keeping the freshness that made Provence rosé famous. Made primarily from Grenache with Rolle, it combines finesse, vibrant fruit and a subtle mineral edge in a style that feels both luxurious and effortlessly drinkable. The wine carries the hallmark pale Provence colour and reflects the modern rise of premium rosé from one of the region’s most respected producers.

Makuprofiili
Rock Angel pours a delicate, pale rosé colour with an elegant brightness in the glass. On the nose, it opens with floral notes, red summer berries, wild strawberries and a touch of peach and melon, giving it a lifted and inviting aromatic profile. The palate is fuller and more layered than a typical rosé, with juicy berry fruit, a fine textural feel and a light mineral streak. A refreshing citrus acidity keeps the wine taut and vibrant, while a subtle hint of spice adds interest to the long, clean finish. This is a rosé built for immediate pleasure, though its balance and structure suggest it can hold beautifully over the near term.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes for Rock Angel are sourced from vineyards around La Motte in the inland area of the Côte d’Azur, where Provence’s warm climate is tempered by freshness that helps preserve aromatic precision and natural acidity. Fruit is harvested in the early morning to protect freshness, then carefully selected through both optical and manual sorting to ensure only the best grapes are used. A combination of gentle pressing and free-run juice obtained by the saignée method gives the wine its pale colour and refined style, before vinification in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve Rock Angel well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. It works beautifully with Provençal dishes, shellfish, grilled prawns, sushi, summer salads, light poultry and Mediterranean seafood plates. Decanting is not necessary, but opening the bottle shortly before serving can help the aromas unfold.
