Château Mouton Rothschild 1999 is a grand Pauillac from one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated estates, known for its power, precision, and unmistakable sense of luxury. Made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, this Imperial-format bottling offers the classic Mouton signature: concentration, structure, and remarkable ageing potential, wrapped in the estate’s legendary prestige and artistic heritage.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby-purple colour that already hints at its depth and intensity. The bouquet is layered and expressive, with cedar, crème de cassis, wood smoke, coffee, and dried herbs unfolding over time. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, combining lush dark fruit with polished tannins and a long, complex finish. The 1999 vintage is approachable in its youth compared with more massive years, yet it still has the backbone expected of a First Growth. Notes of tobacco, graphite, and savoury spice add sophistication as the wine evolves, and the structure suggests further nuance with extended cellaring. In Imperial format, it should age especially gracefully.

Viininvalmistus
Château Mouton Rothschild lies in Pauillac, on the Médoc peninsula, where deep gravel soils and the moderating influence of the nearby Gironde create ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is planted on the famed Plateau de Mouton, with vines growing in poor, well-drained soils that encourage concentration and finesse. Harvesting is carried out with great attention to detail, and vinification is guided by a highly experienced technical team, with blending adjusted according to the character of each vintage to preserve balance and identity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine made for classic, richly flavoured dishes such as roast lamb, beef Wellington, venison, duck breast, or slow-braised short ribs. It also pairs beautifully with mature hard cheeses and truffle-infused dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking now; for a younger-drinking impression, a longer decant may help the wine open fully.
