Makuprofiili
In the glass, the 2002 shows a dense purple color with impressive depth and concentration. The nose is marked by classic blackcurrant and cassis aromas, supported by graphite, cedar, tobacco, and subtle earthy undertones that unfold with air. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, tannic, and powerfully structured, with a chewy, backward style that reflects its serious frame. Dark fruit is layered with spice and savory nuances, leading to a long, firm finish. This vintage has the structure to age gracefully for many years, and benefits from extended cellaring before reaching its peak.

Château Mouton Rothschild is located on the gravel-rich Plateau de Mouton in Pauillac, on the Médoc peninsula of Bordeaux. The vineyard soils are composed largely of deep gravel mixed with sand and clay, ideal for drainage and for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon, which dominates the blend and gives the wine its tannic backbone, aromatic depth, and longevity. The estate is densely planted and managed with meticulous care, with harvesting and vinification carried out by highly specialized teams to preserve precision and character in every vintage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that pairs beautifully with richly flavored dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, venison, duck breast, and truffle-infused dishes. Hard aged cheeses also work well. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decant for several hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully and soften its formidable structure.
