Deep garnet-purple in color, the wine is highly expressive and layered, opening with aromas of warm red and black currants, black plum preserves, truffle, tapenade and rose hip tea. Subtle notes of sandalwood, Chinese five spice and iron ore add complexity and a distinctly Pauillac character. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, firmly structured and beautifully concentrated, with mineral-driven black fruit, herbal accents and refined spice woven through the finish. The tannins are present but polished, giving the wine the shape and seriousness expected of the vintage. This is a wine with excellent aging potential and should develop even greater depth, earthiness and complexity over time.

Viininvalmistus
Pichon Baron’s vineyards are rooted in the gravelly terroirs of Pauillac, where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives alongside Merlot and smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc. The estate works with meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard, adapting to each season’s conditions and harvesting entirely by hand, with rigorous parcel-by-parcel selection based on vine age, variety and ripeness. In the cellar, the grapes undergo a carefully managed vinification with maceration lasting around three to four weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in barrel. The final blend is assembled only after tasting many individual lots, with more than 40 wines considered for the Grand Vin. This precise approach is central to the wine’s depth, structure and consistency.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an ideal match for classic Bordeaux-friendly dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb with herbs, roast duck, venison or beef Wellington. Mature hard cheeses and dishes with earthy elements like mushrooms or truffle also complement its layered profile. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if enjoying it young to allow the aromatics and structure to खुलly unfold.

Château Pichon Longueville Baron dates back to 1689 and became one of Bordeaux’s great estates before the property was divided after the death of Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville in 1850. In the 1855 Classification, it was ranked as a Second Growth, a status that remains a mark of its excellence. After a major revival in the 1980s under AXA and Jean-Michel Cazes, the estate invested heavily in vineyard and cellar improvements, helping restore Pichon Baron to the top tier of Pauillac and cementing its reputation as one of the region’s leading names.
