The 2017 vintage shows exactly why this estate is so admired: a luxurious sweet wine with precision, concentration, and an unmistakable sense of refinement rooted in Bordeaux tradition.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep, brilliant golden hue that immediately signals its opulence. The bouquet is generous and layered, offering aromas of honey, toasted almonds, and ripe pineapple, with a seductive complexity that feels both rich and inviting. On the palate, it unfolds with tropical fruit character, including mango, papaya, and fresh mandarin, alongside a lush, rounded sweetness and a smooth, almost creamy texture. A vibrant line of acidity keeps everything beautifully lifted and elegant, preventing the wine from feeling heavy. The finish is long and persistent, with lingering notes of honeyed, sun-ripened fruit. While already expressive, Château Rieussec 2017 has the structure to age gracefully and develop even more nuance over time.

Viininvalmistus
Château Rieussec is situated in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, where the combination of morning mist and warm, dry afternoons creates ideal conditions for botrytis cinerea, the noble rot essential to great sweet wines. The grapes, primarily Sémillon with Sauvignon Blanc, are typically harvested by hand in successive passes to select only fully ripened, botrytized berries. Careful vinification preserves the wine’s concentration, aromatic complexity, and natural balance of sweetness and acidity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is a superb match for delicate desserts such as fruit tarts, crème brûlée, almond pastries, or poached pear, and it also pairs beautifully with blue cheese or foie gras. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though opening the bottle a little before serving can help the aromas fully раскрып.

Château Rieussec is one of the historic estates of Sauternes and was classified as a Premier Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. Once owned by the Carmelite monks of Langon, the estate later came under the stewardship of major Bordeaux interests and is now part of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). It remains one of the benchmark producers of the region, known for wines of exceptional concentration, elegance, and longevity.
