Château Rieussec Sauternes 2010 is one of the great names in Bordeaux sweet wine, a Premier Grand Cru Classé that has long been admired for its depth, finesse, and remarkable balance. The nose is lavish and inviting, unfolding with aromas of honey, toasted almonds, and ripe pineapple, lifted by a sense of exotic fruit and elegance. On the palate, it opens in layers of mango, papaya, and fresh mandarin, wrapped in a refined sweetness and a smooth, almost creamy texture. Despite its richness, the wine remains beautifully poised thanks to bright acidity, giving it a graceful, polished feel rather than heaviness. The finish is long and persistent, leaving flavours of honeyed, sun-ripened fruit lingering well after the last sip. With its structure and balance, it has excellent ageing potential and can continue to develop for many years.

Château Rieussec is located in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, where the combination of morning mists, warm afternoons, and gravelly soils creates ideal conditions for noble rot, or Botrytis cinerea, to concentrate the grapes. The harvest is typically carried out in several passes through the vineyard, allowing only the most perfectly affected grapes to be picked at optimal ripeness. After careful vinification, the wine is aged in oak barrels, which adds texture, complexity, and subtle toasted nuance to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is a natural match for delicate desserts such as tarte Tatin, crème brûlée, fruit tarts, and poached stone fruit, as well as blue cheeses like Roquefort or Stilton. Serve it well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to keep its freshness and aromatic lift in focus. Decanting is not usually necessary, but a short time in the glass will help the wine fully reveal its layered bouquet.
