Château Talbot 2019

Château Talbot 2019 is a classic Saint-Julien red that combines finesse, structure, and real staying power. Built around Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers the estate’s signature silky tannins and refined balance, making it enjoyable now with proper aeration, yet clearly capable of rewarding patient cellaring. The château’s long history dates back to the 15th century and gives this wine an added sense of heritage and place.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Château Talbot 2019 shows a deep ruby-garnet color with plenty of youthful intensity. The nose is expressive and elegant, with blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco leaf, and a subtle iron-like mineral note, followed by hints of savory spice as it opens up. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied but polished, with deep cassis and dark berry fruit wrapped around fine, well-integrated tannins. There is impressive length and a refined, savory finish that leaves impressions of cedar, tobacco, and graphite. This is a wine built for the cellar and should continue to develop gracefully through the next 15 years or more.

Viininvalmistus
Château Talbot comes from the heart of Saint-Julien, where the vineyards sit on a prized gravelly terroir near the Gironde estuary, helping Cabernet Sauvignon ripen with precision and freshness. The estate’s large, well-situated vineyard neighbors some of the appellation’s most respected names, and the grapes are harvested with careful attention to achieving full ripeness while preserving balance. Vinification is managed to retain the wine’s natural elegance and depth, with élevage designed to build structure without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, venison, or other richly flavored meat dishes. It also works beautifully with mushroom-based plates, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine’s aromas and tannins to open fully.

Château Talbot is one of the flagship estates of Saint-Julien and has been classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The château has been in the hands of the Bignon-Cordier family since 1918 and is now guided by the fifth generation, maintaining its strong reputation for consistency and elegance. With a large estate and a dedicated team, Talbot is recognized for producing wines that are both richly flavored and notably refined.
