Château Valandraud 2000 is a standout Saint-Émilion from one of Bordeaux’s most talked-about modern estates, offering remarkable depth, precision, and personality. Made predominantly from Cabernet Franc, it combines dark fruit intensity with a distinctive mix of cedar, spice, and refined structure, showing the character that helped establish Valandraud’s cult reputation.
Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a very dark core with only a thin crimson rim, suggesting both concentration and maturity. The bouquet is highly expressive, unfolding with black cherry, blackcurrant, sandalwood, cedar, and spice, with aromatic layers that seem to keep expanding. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and wonderfully composed, with supple red and black fruit, fine tannins, and a vibrant line of acidity that gives the wine freshness and tension.
Although it is already impressive, the wine still feels somewhat backward, indicating that it retains further development potential in bottle. The finish is long, precise, and deeply engaging, with the structure and energy to continue evolving gracefully over time.

Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least an hour to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully, especially if the bottle has been resting for some time.
