Dom Perignon 2013 Gaveæske

Dom Pérignon 2013 is a vintage Champagne that captures the house’s signature balance between precision, depth, and elegance. Made only in exceptional years, this cuvée reflects both the character of the 2013 harvest and the refined style for which Dom Pérignon is known, with Chardonnay bringing luminosity and Pinot Noir adding structure and breadth. The 2013 vintage also carries the historical importance of a challenging growing season, transformed into a Champagne of remarkable harmony and distinction.

In the glass, Dom Pérignon 2013 shows a fine, luminous mousse and an elegant, pale golden hue. The nose opens with white flowers, mint, eucalyptus, and vetiver, then moves into riper notes of mirabelle plum, apricot, and orange blossom, before revealing more spiced layers of pepper, cardamom, licorice, smoke, and subtle toasted nuances. On the palate, it is precise and beautifully textured, with impressive fullness balanced by vivid acidity. The mouthfeel is silky and refined, growing more expressive with time in the glass, while the finish is marked by a distinctive saline note and a long, resonant aftertaste. This is a Champagne with excellent aging potential, likely to gain further complexity and depth over time.

Viininvalmistus
The 2013 growing season in Champagne was marked by a cold, wet winter, a rainy spring, and a cool start that delayed the vines, followed by a hot, dry summer and September rains before harvest. The chalk-rich soils of Dom Pérignon’s Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards helped buffer these extremes, preserving the health and balance of the grapes. Chardonnay was sourced from the Côte des Blancs for its purity and elegance, while Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims contributed precision, firmness, and roundness. As with all Dom Pérignon releases, this is a vintage-only Champagne aged for at least eight years in the cellars before release.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Dom Pérignon 2013 pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as oysters, scallops, lobster, sashimi, caviar, roast chicken with herbs, or poultry served with creamy sauces. It also works well with delicate hard cheeses and lightly spiced seafood dishes. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short period in the glass can help the wine open up and reveal its aromatic layers.
