Domaine Chanzy Bourgogne Aligoté Les Fortunés 2023 is a bright, poised white Burgundy that shows just how compelling Aligoté can be when it’s in the right hands. Crafted by winemaker Max Blondelle from estate-grown fruit in Bouzeron, it offers impressive freshness, elegance and mineral drive, making it a standout value from one of the Côte Chalonnaise’s most respected producers.

Makuprofiili
Pale straw in the glass, this wine opens with a lively and expressive nose of pear, red apple, citrus, acacia honey and delicate floral notes. The bouquet feels clean and inviting, with a subtle mineral undertone that hints at the wine’s Burgundian origin. On the palate, it is crisp, energetic and finely balanced, with fresh orchard fruit and citrus taking the lead. The texture remains light on its feet, while the mineral finish adds length and precision. This is a wine best enjoyed young for its brightness and freshness, though it should hold nicely over the short to medium term.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Domaine Chanzy’s own vineyards in Bouzeron, in the northern part of the Côte Chalonnaise, where the terroir lends Aligoté its characteristic tension and clarity. After pressing and fermentation, the wine was matured in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit and its naturally vibrant profile.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for oysters, shellfish, grilled white fish, goat’s cheese, light salads and simple vegetable dishes. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary; in fact, this wine is best enjoyed straight from the bottle while its freshness is at its peak.

Domaine Chanzy was founded in 1974 by Daniel Chanzy in Bouzeron, with the ambition of showing that the wines of the Côte Chalonnaise could stand alongside the great names of the Côte d’Or. Today, Chanzy is regarded as one of the leading producers in the region, with holdings in Bouzeron, Rully, Givry and Mercurey. Since being acquired by a group of Burgundy wine lovers in 2013, the domaine has expanded to 163 hectares and now farms without herbicides or pesticides, using organic fertilisation and occasional ploughing between the rows. Under Max Blondelle’s direction since 2019, Chanzy has continued to build a strong reputation for polished, characterful wines at very attractive prices.
