Domaine Chanzy’s Santenay 1er Cru "Beaurepaire" White 2023 is a beautifully crafted Chardonnay that delivers impressive depth and intensity at a very compelling price point for white Burgundy. Coming from the same Beaurepaire site that also yields outstanding reds, it shows the kind of precision, richness, and character that make Santenay one of Burgundy’s most exciting value-driven appellations.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a golden hue that hints at its richness and concentration. The nose opens with layers of citrus, mango, pineapple, honey, hazelnut, and a gentle touch of butter, creating an aromatic profile that is both generous and refined. On the palate, citrus and exotic fruit lead the way, supported by a distinct mineral backbone, impressive length, and a textured, almost oily mouthfeel. It is already highly enjoyable now, yet has the structure and balance to develop nicely over the next 8–10 years.

Viininvalmistus
The Chardonnay comes from the Beaurepaire 1er Cru site in Santenay, a Burgundy terroir known for producing wines with both power and finesse. After pressing and fermentation, the wine spent 10 months in used French oak barrels, a careful élevage that adds texture and complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a versatile and food-friendly white Burgundy that works beautifully with roast chicken, turbot, scallops, lobster, creamy risottos, or dishes with mushrooms and gently nutty sauces. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and decanting is not essential but can help the wine open up if enjoyed young.
