In the glass, it shows the richness and depth you would expect from a warm 2003 vintage, with an aromatic profile that is both lifted and intense. The nose offers orange zest and clove, alongside floral notes and ripe stone fruit, especially peach. On the palate, the wine is sweetly fruited and generously textured, yet still carries a certain youthful edge that adds energy and tension. Flavours of peach, orange blossom, and spice linger with impressive persistence. While already expressive, it has the structure and concentration to develop further with time in bottle.

Les Gouttes d’Or comes from Burgundy, where Domaine des Comtes Lafon is known for working some of the region’s finest vineyard sites with great precision. The estate has long prioritized low yields and careful vineyard stewardship, with organic certification and biodynamic principles guiding the work in the vines. Harvesting is done with a focus on quality and ripeness, and the vinification is adapted to each vintage to best preserve the character of the fruit and site.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as roast chicken, lobster, creamy mushroom risotto, or veal in a light sauce. Serve at around 10–12°C to allow the wine’s aromatic complexity to come through clearly. Decanting is not essential, but a brief aeration can help soften the wine and open up its bouquet, especially if it is poured from a well-stored bottle.

Domaine des Comtes Lafon is based in Meursault and was established in 1869 by the Boch family, remaining in family hands ever since. The estate took on its current name after Marie Boch married Comte Jules Lafon, and today it is considered one of Burgundy’s benchmark producers, with holdings in top Cru and Premier Cru vineyards in Meursault and Volnay. Under Dominique Lafon, who took charge in 1984, the domaine strengthened its reputation for outstanding white wines and became certified organic in 1995, while also embracing biodynamic practices. The estate is widely admired for its low yields, mature vines, and exceptional consistency across both white and red Burgundy.
