Domaine du Pegau Da Capo 2015 is the estate’s rare top cuvée, produced only in exceptional vintages and widely regarded as one of the great wines of the Rhône. Often discussed in the same breath as the region’s most iconic bottles, it represents the ultimate expression of Pegau’s power, depth, and uncompromising style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Da Capo 2015 shows a dense, inky colour with a vivid purple sheen. The bouquet is strikingly layered and highly expressive, opening with dark ripe plum and blackberry before unfolding into cracked black pepper, liquorice, smoked meat, truffle, crème de cassis, violets, and a distinct Provençal spice character. The palate is intensely concentrated yet beautifully composed, with dark fruit, spice, and savoury complexity moving in perfect balance. The finish is exceptionally long and persistent, showing the structure and depth to age gracefully for many years, and likely decades, in the cellar.

Viininvalmistus
Da Capo is crafted from fruit sourced from three different vineyards, with meticulous selection carried out almost cluster by cluster. Laurence Féraud works with 13 grape varieties in the blend, led by Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvèdre playing supporting roles; the wine is made with whole bunches, fermented for around 10 days in cement tanks with native yeasts, and then matured for two years in carefully chosen old oak barrels. The approach is intentionally low-intervention, allowing the character of the terroir and the concentration of the vintage to take centre stage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine for equally ambitious food pairings, especially slow-roasted lamb, venison, beef daube, game birds, truffle dishes, and rich Provençal cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is highly recommended, ideally several hours in advance, to allow the wine’s full aromatic complexity and structure to open up.
