Domaine du Vicomte Liger-Belair La Romanée Grand Cru 2010 is one of Burgundy’s most exclusive and compelling Pinot Noirs, drawn from a tiny Grand Cru site in the heart of Vosne-Romanée. The 2010 vintage is still remarkably youthful, but already shows the kind of purity, precision, and underlying power that make La Romanée so revered. Deeply expressive yet still largely primary, the 2010 La Romanée is a wine that seems to unfold slowly in the glass. Expect a translucent ruby color typical of great Burgundy, with an aromatic profile that is initially restrained but hinting at red cherry, wild strawberry, crushed violets, spice, and subtle earthy undertones. The bouquet is defined more by finesse and energy than overt maturity.
On the palate, it is all about balance and structure: firm tannins wrapped around extraordinarily pure fruit, with a weightless texture and remarkable inner tension. There is both delicacy and concentration, finishing with length and clarity. Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Grand Cru deserves refined dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, quail, mushroom risotto, truffled poultry, or a simple piece of aged Comté. Serve at around 16–18°C, ideally after a little time in the glass. Decanting is recommended if opened young, but a gentle approach is best to preserve its aromatic subtlety.
