Domaine François Raquillet’s Mercurey Rouge 1er Cru Les Vasées 2022 is a beautifully expressive Pinot Noir from one of Mercurey’s most fruit-driven premier cru sites. Elegant yet generous, it stands out for its round texture, ripe fruit character, and refined Burgundian balance, making it a particularly appealing example of the appellation’s style.

In the glass, Les Vasées shows a bright, polished ruby color that hints at its lively fruit profile. The nose is distinctly Pinot Noir, with aromas that feel fresh, fragrant, and inviting, while the palate delivers a supple, rounded mouthfeel with impressive depth and a pleasing sense of texture. There is plenty of charm here, with fruit purity at the core and the subtle structure you would expect from a Premier Cru Burgundy. The oak influence is present but well integrated, adding gentle complexity rather than masking the wine’s natural expression. This cuvée is built to age gracefully, and is recommended after around 5–7 years from the vintage, when its fruit and texture will have come together beautifully.

Viininvalmistus
Les Vasées comes from one of the most fruit-forward Premier Cru parcels in the Domaine François Raquillet portfolio, in the Mercurey appellation of Burgundy. The wine is matured for 12 months in oak barrels, including 30% new oak, then lightly filtered before bottling to preserve its finesse and aromatic clarity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roast poultry, duck breast, mushroom dishes, veal, or elegant game preparations, as well as hard cheeses with a fine, nutty character. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended if drinking it young to help open up the wine’s aromas and soften its structure.
