Domaine G. Roumier Bonnes-Mares 2018 is a striking Grand Cru Burgundy that captures both power and finesse in equal measure. Sourced from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most celebrated vineyards, it combines the depth and structure of Bonnes-Mares with the precision and elegance for which Domaine Georges Roumier is renowned.

In the glass, the 2018 vintage shows remarkable depth and intensity, with a vibrant, dark fruit profile that signals both concentration and class. Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, and violet unfold alongside more savory nuances of tobacco, mocha, and forest floor. On the palate, it is concentrated and structured, with firm yet polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a distinctly mineral backbone that carries the wine into a very long finish. This is a wine built for patience. While already impressive for its aromatic complexity and balance, it has clear aging potential and will benefit from several years in bottle, gaining further nuance, silkiness, and secondary character over time.

Viininvalmistus
The Bonnes-Mares parcel lies on the border of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, where the vines benefit from a complex terroir of red and white clay-limestone mixed with stony, rich topsoil. Domaine Georges Roumier works with meticulous care in the vineyard and cellar, including hand harvesting, careful fruit selection, partial whole-cluster fermentation depending on the vintage, and maturation for typically 16 to 18 months in new and lightly used oak barrels to preserve the character of the site without overwhelming it.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best served with refined dishes that can stand up to its structure, such as roast duck, lamb, beef fillet, game birds, or mushroom-based dishes with truffle or rich jus. It should be enjoyed at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opened young, especially to help the wine gradually reveal its full aromatic range.
