Domaine Henri Richard Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru 2019 is a biodynamically farmed Pinot Noir from one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most esteemed Grand Cru sites. Made from old vines in the southern part of Mazoyères-Chambertin, it combines the depth and power of great Côte de Nuits wine with a polished, naturally expressive style rooted in low-intervention winemaking.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby-red color that immediately signals concentration and class. The nose is intense and layered, with dark cherries, wild forest berries, violet, and subtle spice, unfolding with remarkable complexity as it opens. On the palate, it is rich yet refined, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long mineral finish that gives the wine both energy and precision. The 2019 vintage brings ripe fruit and excellent concentration, and while it is already approachable with some air, it has the structure and balance to age gracefully for 10–15 years, developing even greater nuance and depth over time.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from old vines planted on limestone and clay soils in an ideally positioned southern section of Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru. The vineyard is cultivated biodynamically, with a focus on preserving natural balance and expressing the site as clearly as possible. Harvesting is carried out with care, and fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts. The wine is then matured for 12–18 months in traditional Burgundian oak barrels, with only a small proportion of new oak, and is neither fined nor filtered to retain maximum texture, purity, and authenticity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Grand Cru pairs beautifully with dishes that can match its depth and structure, such as roasted duck, pigeon, lamb, game birds, or mushroom-based dishes. It also works well with truffle risotto and refined beef preparations. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and layers to fully emerge.
