Domaine Merlin-Cherrier Sancerre 2024 is a classic, wonderfully well-made expression of Sauvignon Blanc from one of the Loire’s most respected white wine appellations. Fresh, direct, and beautifully mineral, it captures the bright, effortless style that has made Sancerre such a benchmark for crisp, elegant white wine.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a pale golden hue with a clear, lively brightness. The nose is fresh and inviting, opening with citrus, grapefruit, cut grass, flint, and a subtle hint of elderflower. On the palate, it is crisp and precise, with zesty freshness balanced by a distinct mineral backbone that reflects the Sancerre terroir. The wine feels clean and drinkable from the start, with enough structure to enjoy over the next 4–5 years while it remains at its freshest and most vibrant.

Viininvalmistus
The Sauvignon Blanc vines are rooted in soils rich in limestone, marl, and flint, which help shape the wine’s signature tension and mineral purity. Thierry Merlin-Cherrier ages the wine for five months on its lees before bottling, a gentle approach that adds texture and depth while preserving the wine’s bright, straight-forward character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Sancerre is a natural match for goat cheese, oysters, shellfish, grilled white fish, asparagus, and light salads with fresh herbs. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, as this wine is meant to be enjoyed for its immediate freshness and purity.
