Domaine Parigot Volnay 2023

Domaine Parigot’s Volnay 2022 is a polished Burgundy Pinot Noir that captures both finesse and depth, offering a beautifully expressive take on one of the region’s most admired appellations. Produced in limited quantities by a family domaine with a strong reputation for quality, it combines purity of fruit, elegant structure, and a distinctly terroir-driven character.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a bright, refined ruby colour that hints at its youth and vitality. The nose is lifted and nuanced, with red cherries, wild strawberries, subtle floral notes, and a touch of spice and earthiness that adds complexity. On the palate, it is graceful yet layered, with silky tannins, свежая acidity, and a vibrant core of red berry fruit framed by savoury minerality. The finish is long and precise, showing the balance and poise that make Volnay so appealing. While already charming now, it has the structure to develop additional depth and secondary notes with a few years in the cellar.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted to ensure only the best fruit makes it into the cellar. Fermentation is followed by 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels, with around 20% new oak, allowing the wine to gain texture and complexity without overwhelming its delicate fruit profile. Domaine Parigot’s parcels benefit from Bourgogne’s classic limestone and clay soils, which help give the wine its freshness, precision, and mineral drive.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Volnay is an excellent match for roasted duck, grilled quail, mushroom risotto, and refined dishes such as veal or poultry with light cream sauces. It also pairs beautifully with soft cheeses and earthy vegetarian plates. Serve at 15–17°C, and decanting is recommended for about 30 minutes if opening young to allow the wine to fully open.

Domaine Parigot is a respected family-run estate founded in 1950 by Georges Parigot and later expanded by his son Régis, who helped build the domaine’s reputation through careful vineyard acquisitions, particularly in Pommard and Meursault. Today, third-generation winemaker Alexandre Parigot leads the estate, bringing modern precision and deep respect for Burgundian terroir to both the vineyards and cellar. His work has helped elevate Domaine Parigot into one of the region’s more quietly impressive producers, known for delivering high-quality wines with admirable consistency.
