Dominio de Pingus de Pingus 2023 is one of Spain’s most sought-after Tempranillos, crafted from tiny old-vine parcels in Castilla y León with remarkably limited production. With fruit drawn from Barroso and San Cristóbal, this is a wine defined by depth, precision, and the intensity that only very old vines can deliver. It carries the prestige of Peter Sisseck’s iconic project, which has helped redefine the global reputation of Ribera del Duero.
Makuprofiili
Expect a deeply colored red with impressive concentration and a polished, vivid profile. The nose is typically layered and complex, with ripe dark berries, plum, floral nuances, subtle spice, and a refined earthy character that reflects the age of the vines and the quality of the fruit.
On the palate, Pingus is powerful yet beautifully composed, combining dense, ripe fruit with fresh structure, fine tannins, and a long, persistent finish. The use of whole clusters in this vintage adds lift and aromatic detail, while extended aging in French oak contributes finesse rather than overt wood. This is a wine with excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve gracefully over many years.
Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from just 4.2 hectares across the Barroso and San Cristóbal parcels, where the vines are more than 65 years old and, in the case of San Cristóbal, even older. These old vines, rooted in Castilla y León, benefit from a vintage that followed a wet winter and provided enough soil moisture to carry the vines through the dry summer without excessive stress. The wine was vinified with nearly half whole clusters in 2,000-liter French oak vats, then matured for 21 months, with part of the wine remaining in large cask before final blending and bottling without fining or filtration.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this wine with richly flavored dishes such as roast lamb, slow-braised beef, venison, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes. It also pairs well with aged Manchego and other mature hard cheeses. Best served around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended, especially in its youth, to allow the wine’s aromas and texture to fully open.

Dominio de Pingus was established by Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck and quickly became one of Spain’s most celebrated modern wine projects. Based in Ribera del Duero, the estate is known for its uncompromising focus on old-vine fruit, low yields, and meticulous cellar work. Pingus has achieved near-legendary status among collectors and critics alike, and it remains one of the benchmark names in Spanish fine wine.
