Flor de Pingus 2021 Magnum is one of the most sought-after expressions from Dominio de Pingus, offering remarkable quality and precision in a more accessible style than the flagship Pingus. Made from old-vine Tempranillo sourced near the prized Barrosso and San Cristóbal parcels in Castilla y León, it combines depth, finesse, and the signature mineral edge that has made Peter Sisseck’s wines internationally admired.

In the glass, Flor de Pingus shows a насыщated ruby-purple color with impressive intensity. The nose opens with ripe plums, violets, and wild Mediterranean herbs, layered with warm spice, subtle oak, and a faint earthy-saline note that gives the wine lift and definition. The palate is powerful and generously textured, yet not overblown. Dark fruit, floral tones, and savory spice are carried by a fresh, salty mineral backbone, while the tannins remain polished and quietly integrated. The magnum format should support graceful development over time, and the wine has the structure to age beautifully for several more years, gaining complexity and nuance.

Viininvalmistus
Flor de Pingus is crafted from fruit grown on partially leased vineyards near the Barrosso and San Cristóbal plots, close to the source of the original Pingus wine. The vines are around 60 years old, with deep roots that draw minerality from the subsoil and help the plants withstand the dry summer conditions. Harvesting is done with careful selection, and fermentation takes place largely with native yeasts in 2,000-liter oak vats, using some whole clusters alongside lightly crushed grapes. The wine is aged for 14 months in a mix of about 30% new French oak and seasoned French barrels previously used for Flor de Pingus and then Pingus, before being bottled without fining or filtration.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Flor de Pingus pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, roast suckling pig, game birds, mushroom dishes, and slow-braised meats with herbs or spices. It also works well with aged Manchego and other firm, nutty cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and texture to fully open.
