Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Chardonnay 2021

Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Chardonnay 2021 is a polished, generously styled white wine sourced from some of the coolest and most highly regarded sites in Napa Valley. More than half of the fruit comes from Los Carneros, with the remainder carefully selected from four additional AVAs by winemaker Renée Ary, giving the wine both freshness and depth. Crafted in a classic French style, it reflects the modern Napa Chardonnay tradition with a nod to the region’s cool-climate elegance.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a bright, inviting profile with a rounded, supple texture. The nose is expressive and layered, offering peach, citrus, pear, and mango, lifted by notes of brioche and crème brûlée from oak aging. On the palate, ripe peach and pear take the lead, followed by hints of apricot, clove, and lemongrass. The wine is creamy and easy to enjoy, with enough freshness to keep it balanced. It is made to drink well now, though it should hold nicely over the next few years as the fruit and oak integrate further.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit for this wine comes from cool-climate vineyard sites in Napa Valley, with Los Carneros contributing the largest share and other selected parcels adding complexity and structure. The grapes are harvested from carefully chosen blocks that benefit from the region’s moderate temperatures and extended ripening season. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels with lees stirring, followed by maturation in French oak, 40% of which is new, to build richness and a layered, textured finish.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, lobster, crab, creamy pasta dishes, seared scallops, and dishes with subtle spice or butter-based sauces. Serve it chilled at around 10–12°C for the best balance of freshness and texture. Decanting is not necessary, but a short time in the glass can help the aromas open up.
