It combines the richness of valley floor fruit with the lift and precision of cooler ridge and coastal vineyards, resulting in a Pinot Noir that is both generous and beautifully structured. The 2023 vintage’s long, cool growing season has shaped a wine of clarity, energy, and impressive depth.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a bright, translucent ruby color typical of the variety, hinting at elegance rather than power. The nose is layered with red and dark berries, cherry, anise, pine, and subtle floral spice, all framed by the refined influence of French oak. On the palate, it unfolds with cherry, blackberry, and orange peel, supported by fine tannins and a fresh, vibrant acidity that gives the wine real drive. The finish is persistent and energetic, with enough concentration to reward cellaring; while it drinks well now for its lively fruit, it should continue to gain complexity over the next decade.

This wine is sourced from Occidental Road Vineyard, Dutton-Upp Road Vineyard, Flax Estate Vineyard, DuMOL Estate Vineyard, and Placida Vineyard in the Russian River Valley, a region known for its cool mornings, maritime influence, and diverse terroir. The mix of valley-floor and hillside sites adds both breadth and focus, while the average vine age of around 18 years and a selection of clones including Calera, Swan, Pommard, and Dijon contribute nuance and complexity. After harvest, the wine was matured for 15 months in French oak barrels, 28% of which were new, with a total production of 4,900 cases.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
A versatile Pinot Noir like this pairs beautifully with roast duck, grilled salmon, pork tenderloin, mushroom risotto, or herb-roasted chicken. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 16–18°C, to keep the fruit and acidity in balance. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help the wine open up if enjoyed young.
