Failla Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2022 is a beautifully restrained California Chardonnay that showcases freshness, precision, and coastal character rather than heavy oak or richness. Sourced from several of the region’s best sites, it reflects Winemaker Ehren Jordan’s preference for a cooler, more vibrant style—one that has helped redefine what Sonoma Coast Chardonnay can be. Instead of a classic buttery blockbuster, this bottle leans into elegance, minerality, and lift.

Makuprofiili
Pale straw in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with a bright and inviting aromatic profile of yellow apple, ripe pear, white flowers, honeysuckle, citrus, and a subtle marshmallow note. The nose is layered but never overly opulent, offering a refined expression of fruit and floral nuance. On the palate, the wine is crisp and focused, carrying the aromatic fruit into flavors of citrus, lime zest, crushed oyster shell, and wet stone. The texture is sleek rather than creamy, with a fresh mineral edge that gives the wine drive and length. It is a Chardonnay built for near-term enjoyment, though its balance and acidity should allow it to develop nicely over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
This Chardonnay is sourced from multiple top vineyard sites across the Sonoma Coast, a cool-climate region strongly influenced by Pacific breezes and coastal fog. These conditions preserve acidity and bring out the variety’s more refined, mineral side. Harvesting is typically done with care to capture freshness and optimal ripeness, and the winemaking aims to preserve site expression rather than overwhelm it with heavy extraction or oak influence.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
A natural match for fresh seafood such as peeled shrimp, oysters, crab, or simply grilled white fish, this wine also works well with roast chicken, lemony pasta, and vegetable dishes with a touch of salinity. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not necessary, but a short time in the glass will help the aromatics open up beautifully.
