Hirsch Vineyard sits on the Sonoma Coast above the fog line, where cool maritime influences and maximum sun exposure help the fruit ripen slowly while retaining freshness. The site’s varied soils, including Goldridge, Hugo, Boomer, and Yorkville, contribute to the wine’s layered character and mineral edge. Founded in 1980 by David Hirsch and planted across roughly 90 acres, the vineyard has long been recognized for producing Pinot Noir of striking purity and site expression. The 2021 vintage benefited from a warm but moderate growing season and cool, steady harvest conditions, allowing for full tannin maturity at low alcohol and a lifted, aromatic profile. Failla’s minimalist approach lets the vineyard speak clearly in the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roasted duck, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, herb-roasted chicken, or dishes featuring earthy vegetables and truffle. Serve at around 14–16°C for the best balance of fragrance and structure. Decanting is not essential, but a brief decant of 20–30 minutes can help open the wine’s aromatics if enjoyed young.
