Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Magnum

Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Magnum is a benchmark Napa Valley red from one of California’s true legends. Crafted in a classically Bordeaux-inspired style from the Forman Vineyard, it combines Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec for added depth, structure, and complexity. This is a wine made with old-school precision and patience, and it has long been regarded as one of the great values in top-tier Napa Cabernet.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, dark purple color that hints at its concentration and intensity. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, sweet tobacco, leather, lavender, sage, and a subtle touch of eucalyptus. On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, delivering notes of blueberry, blackberry, truffle, forest floor, graphite, smoke, and a faint thread of anise. The wine has the structure and concentration to age beautifully, and the magnum format only extends that potential further. While already impressive now, it is built for the long haul and should continue evolving gracefully for well over a decade, with the capacity to reward careful cellaring even longer.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes entirely from Forman Vineyard in California, where the grapes are hand-harvested and sorted within 30 minutes to preserve quality at every step. Ric Forman’s approach is firmly rooted in traditional winemaking, with a strong Bordeaux influence and a focus on restraint, balance, and terroir expression. The wine is aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels, matured in deep underground cellars located ten levels below ground, which helps maintain ideal conditions throughout élevage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that calls for richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, braised short ribs, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young, as this will help the wine open and show its full aromatic range.
