Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Véroilles 2012 Magnum is a graceful and highly sought-after Burgundy from one of the appellation’s most respected names. Made from Pinot Noir in the prized Chambolle-Musigny terroir, it combines precision, perfume, and finesse in a style that has made Barthod a reference point for elegant Côte de Nuits wines. The 2012 vintage, shaped by difficult weather and low yields, delivered fruit of exceptional concentration and purity.

In the glass, this wine shows a deep ruby-red color with inviting clarity. The nose is refined and expressive, opening with aromas of cherry, wild strawberry, rose petals, forest floor, and a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, with bright acidity, polished tannins, and a silky texture that gives the wine real charm and poise. Layers of red berry fruit are supported by delicate mineral notes and a long, persistent finish. While already approachable for its lively fruit and energy, the structure suggests it can continue to develop gracefully in bottle over the coming years.

Les Véroilles is a Premier Cru site in Chambolle-Musigny, where cool-climate terroir and limestone-rich soils help produce Pinot Noir of exceptional elegance and aromatic detail. In 2012, challenging conditions reduced yields, but the remaining grapes were of very high quality. Domaine Ghislaine Barthod is known for meticulous vineyard work and restrained vinification that aims to preserve purity, precision, and the distinctive character of each climat.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with dishes that echo its delicacy and depth, such as roast duck, pheasant, mushroom risotto, veal, or earthy poultry dishes with herbs and light sauces. It is best served at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended only briefly, if at all, especially for a mature bottle, to allow the wine to open without losing its subtle perfume.
