Álvaro Palacios Vi de Vila Gratallops 2020 is a выразive Priorat red that captures the character of one of Spain’s most revered wine regions. Built on a traditional blend of Garnacha, Cariñena and Syrah, it balances power, freshness and finesse with the signature mineral depth that has made Priorat famous.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a deep, concentrated ruby tone. The nose opens with intense dark fruit aromas of blackcurrant and cherry, layered with spice, tobacco and a subtle earthy mineral note that hints at its Priorat origins. The palate is full-bodied and richly textured, yet never heavy. Garnacha and Cariñena provide structure and depth, while Syrah brings juicy fruit and a touch of peppery spice. A fresh line of acidity and soft tannins keep everything in balance, leading to a long, elegant finish. This is a wine with excellent ageing potential and should develop beautifully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Gratallops is sourced from Priorat, a rugged, mountainous region in Catalonia known for its steep terraced vineyards and distinctive slate soils, locally called llicorella. The grapes are harvested with care to preserve freshness and concentration. Fermentation takes place in small tanks, followed by ageing in a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks to maintain the wine’s vibrant fruit, structure and spicy complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roast beef, game, slow-cooked stews and dishes with Mediterranean herbs or smoky flavours. It also pairs well with mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and structure to open fully.
