Guido Porro Barolo Gianetto 2020

Guido Porro Barolo Gianetto 2020 is a refined and terroir-driven Barolo from Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most respected communes in the appellation. Sourced from the Gianetto vineyard, it combines the structure and depth Barolo is known for with a more elegant, finely etched expression that highlights both fruit purity and regional character.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby-red colour, hinting at its youthful energy and classic Nebbiolo profile. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of ripe red berries, violets, and delicate spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, bright acidity, and a long, graceful finish that brings together fruit, structure, and subtle savoury complexity. This is a Barolo built for the cellar, with excellent ageing potential over the coming years. While it can be enjoyed now with a short decant, time will reward the wine with even greater depth, harmony, and aromatic nuance.

Viininvalmistus
Gianetto is a prized vineyard site in Serralunga d’Alba, where the soils contribute to the wine’s finesse, structure, and sense of place. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the fruit, then aged in large, old Slavonian oak casks. This traditional approach allows the character of the vineyard to remain front and centre while supporting the wine’s natural tannin and acidity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Barolo pairs wonderfully with classic Italian dishes such as truffle pasta, risotto with mushrooms, braised meats, and slow-cooked game. It is also an excellent match for grilled beef and mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least one to two hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully.
