Gutzler Riesling Gutswein 2025

Gutzler Riesling Gutswein 2023 is a beautifully expressive German Riesling with real depth, texture, and drive. Raised in large foudres and matured on fine lees, it shows the purity of the grape and the precision of a top Rheinhessen producer, while reflecting the long-standing German tradition of crafting mineral, age-worthy Riesling with finesse.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Riesling shows a clear, luminous pale straw colour that hints at its freshness and vitality. The nose is especially striking, with layered aromas of smoked Williams pear, fermented white asparagus, dried lime, and a subtle touch of petrol, all lifted by a distinctly mineral edge. On the palate, it is intense and focused, combining ripe fruit with a lively, mouthwatering acidity and a delicate salty mineral character that gives the wine real length and energy. The use of large foudres allows the fruit to remain front and center, while the lees contact adds breadth and complexity. This is a wine with excellent balance and the potential to develop further over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
Produced in Rheinhessen, a region increasingly renowned for world-class Riesling, this wine benefits from the area’s varied soils and favorable climate, which help preserve freshness while building aromatic depth. The grapes are vinified with a focus on purity and texture, then matured in very large old oak foudres, where long lees contact adds complexity without imparting pronounced oak flavour. This traditional approach allows the varietal character and mineral expression to shine through clearly.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for seafood, shellfish, sushi, asparagus, light poultry dishes, and Asian cuisine with a gentle spice element. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary, though a little time in the glass will allow the aromas to unfold beautifully.
