Hacienda Monasterio 2015 Magnum

Hacienda Monasterio 2015 Magnum is a powerful yet beautifully balanced red wine from one of Ribera del Duero’s most respected estates. Combining the depth of ripe fruit, the precision of limestone-grown vineyards, and the added allure of magnum format, it offers both immediate appeal and excellent cellaring potential. The 2015 vintage is especially notable for its warm, generous character, giving the wine a more approachable and seductive profile while preserving the structure needed for long-term aging.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, intense color that hints at its concentration and richness. The nose opens with blackcurrant, ripe plum, violet, dark chocolate, and subtle spice from oak aging, all layered with a fine mineral edge. On the palate, it is full-bodied and supple, with silky texture, mature tannins, and impressive depth. The ripe fruit is framed by elegant freshness and a firm mineral backbone, giving the wine both power and finesse. While already very attractive now, the magnum format will support graceful development over many years, allowing its complexity to unfold further with time.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards planted on limestone-rich slopes near the Duero River in Castilla y León, a terroir known for producing wines of both concentration and tension. Harvested with care to preserve optimal ripeness, the wine is fermented with native yeasts and then aged in French barriques, including a significant proportion of new oak, which adds structure, spice, and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roasted lamb, grilled beef, game dishes, braised short ribs, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C to bring out its aromatic depth and refined structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to allow the wine to fully open and show its layered character.
