Hacienda Monasterio 2022

Hacienda Monasterio 2022 is a beautifully complete expression of Ribera del Duero, bringing together depth, finesse, and a striking sense of balance. It combines generous dark fruit with pronounced mineral tension and subtle oak spice, reflecting the collaboration between acclaimed oenologist Peter Sisseck and winemaker Carlos de la Fuente.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, concentrated color that hints at its intensity and structure. The nose opens with ripe black cherries, dark berries, and a refined touch of herbs and cedar. On the palate, it is powerful yet lifted, with silky tannins, cool-fruited precision, and a chalky mineral core that gives the wine impressive definition. There is plenty of juiciness and energy here, but also a sense of transparency and elegance beneath the richness. Hacienda Monasterio 2022 can be enjoyed young for its vibrant fruit and polished texture, though it also has the structure to develop further with time in bottle.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from cultivated parcels located between Pesquera and Valbuena de Duero, in an area defined by limestone-rich soils that give the wine its distinctive mineral drive. The vineyards are planted mainly with Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), alongside smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in temperature-controlled tanks, followed by up to 18 months of ageing in French oak barrels, with only a small proportion of new wood.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs especially well with roast lamb, grilled beef, game, and slow-cooked dishes with herbs or earthy accents. It also works beautifully with mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young to allow the wine to fully unfold.
