Hubert Lignier Gevrey-Chambertin La Perrière 1er Cru 2014 is a finely built Pinot Noir from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most prized villages, offering the depth and structure Gevrey is known for with the refinement that marks great Burgundy. Sourced from the Premier Cru La Perrière, it combines dark-fruited intensity, mineral grip, and a polished oak frame, making it a compelling expression of both site and producer. While the wine is very much of its place, it also reflects the long heritage of a domaine that has helped define serious, age-worthy Burgundy for generations.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a deep ruby hue with a poised, classical Burgundy appearance. The nose is aromatic yet restrained at first, opening into notes of dark berries, loganberry, bilberry, and a distinctly granitic, mineral character, with subtle spice and oak in the background. On the palate, it is silky and concentrated, with well-judged acidity supporting the fruit and giving the wine lift and precision. The texture is supple but not soft, with the structure needed to carry it through further cellaring. There is a sense of seriousness and definition here, but also real seduction in the finish, where the fruit and 25% new oak are woven together smoothly. This is a wine with clear aging potential and should continue to evolve beautifully over the coming years, gaining complexity and harmony.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Gevrey-Chambertin pairs beautifully with dishes that match its depth and structure, such as roast duck, pheasant, beef tenderloin, braised lamb, or mushroom-based dishes like wild mushroom risotto. It also works well with aged cheeses such as Époisses or Comté. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if opening the wine in its youth, to allow the aromatic layers and structure to show at their best.

Hubert Lignier is a fifth-generation family estate with roots going back to 1880, when Jacques Lignier purchased vines in Morey-St-Denis in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Today, the domaine is managed by Hubert Lignier and his son Laurent, with a cellar in Morey-St-Denis and around nine hectares of vineyards producing wines across Bourgogne, village, premier cru, and grand cru levels. The estate is particularly respected for its work in Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, and its wines are widely valued for their depth, structure, and aging potential. Hubert Lignier has earned a strong reputation for crafting traditional Burgundy with real finesse and concentration.
