I Vigneri Etna Rosso Vinupetra 2023 is a vivid expression of Etna’s volcanic slopes, made from native Sicilian grapes grown at around 700 meters above sea level. It stands out for its energy, depth, and a striking balance between power and elegance, with a velvety texture that carries the unmistakable imprint of its mountain terroir. As a modern red rooted in ancient volcanic land, it captures both the character and heritage of Sicily’s most distinctive wine region.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Vinupetra shows a bright ruby hue with lively transparency, hinting at freshness and finesse. The nose is lifted and expressive, with aromas of red cherry, wild berries, dried herbs, spice, and a smoky, mineral edge that recalls Etna’s volcanic soils. On the palate, it is energetic and almost fiery, yet refined, with juicy red fruit, savory spice, and a firm mineral backbone. The texture is elegant and velvety, with vibrant acidity and well-integrated tannins giving the wine both drive and structure. While approachable in youth for its brightness and perfume, it should also gain complexity with a few years of careful cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes for this wine come from high-altitude vineyards on the slopes of Mount Etna, where volcanic soils, cool nights, and strong temperature shifts help preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. The altitude of around 700 meters adds tension and lift to the wine, while the mineral-rich terrain contributes to its distinctive smoky, stony character. Harvest is typically done by hand to protect the quality of the fruit, and vinification is carried out with a focus on preserving the purity of the native varieties and the expression of the site.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast poultry, grilled lamb, mushroom dishes, cured meats, and Sicilian-inspired cuisine such as pasta with tomato, eggplant, or wild herbs. It is best served slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting for about 30 minutes can help open the wine and soften its more volcanic, structured edges.
